Changing over digital age is becoming the driving force for modern approaches to provide a safe road system. VANETs play an important role in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) due to their increasing importance for the building of it. The Wireless networks are more vulnerable to malicious attack than traditional wired networks. Thus, security is much more dicult in VANET networks than in other networks. This paper evaluates the performance of two reactive routing protocols under black hole attack, and analyzes which of protocols are most a ected by the attack. The performance was experimentally measured using some of metrics like packet delivery ratio, throughput, average delay, overhead and packet loss ratio. The simulation is carried out in NS-3 simulator to create VANET network, and Bonnmotion to generate realistic mobility scenarios.
